Well, you can scratch business cards off your holiday wish list--because NextDayFlyers is giving away 500 standard business cards printed in full color on the front, black on the back. They'll include next-day printing turnaround time and ground shipping to the Continental U.S.
NextDayFlyers specializes in providing brochures, business cards and much more. Check them out for all of your printing needs!
Sounds pretty sweet, eh? Well, I'd like to sweeten the deal and add a resume critique to the mix. (I just earned my Certified Professional Resume Writer [CPRW] credential, so you know you're getting great advice!) That's right, the winner also gets a resume consulting session from me, via email. Not a bad way to jump-start your 2011 job-hunting / networking activities, eh?
How to Enter: Leave a comment here with your full email address and tell me why you want new business cards and a resume critique. The winner, chosen at random by myself, will be sent details for their new business cards, and then they will be invited by me to submit their resume. I will provide a critique via email. You may enter only once--but tell your friends about the giveaway as much as possible. Open to residents in the U.S. only--and the business cards will only go to the 48 states (sorry, Alaskans and Hawaiians--you always get a bum deal...maybe next time).
Deadline is December 20, 2010 and the winner will be announced in January 2011.
So, what are you waiting for? Enter today.

Hi, there! Because of my internship, I'm constantly at networking events...and I'm always there empty-handed. When I meet people and they ask me for a biz card, I uncomfortably shrug my shoulders and tell them to ask my boss...this is not great. I'm entering the business world shortly, and I'd like to do it with a dazzling resume and professional biz cards to match my dazzling and professional personality.
Hello!
I need business cards because I am a PR student who does a lot of networking, but I pay my way through college myself! I work part time while in school but I basically spend all of my money on rent & bills & groceries. I would also love the resume critique because I would like another perspective other than just my school's Center for Career Opportunities. Another point of view is always great, especially from outside of academia.
Please pick me!

In the past I have done copywriting, promotions, blogging, design work, drafting, website design/coding, ad design, copy platform composure, creative directing...etc. But before all that, I was but a server and a student. Originally from Chicago, I have called Florida my home for the last 20 years. I am a fishing aficionado, guitar novice, workout enthusiast, proficient trail biking faller, cinema connoisseur, mediocre surfer, and a ballin' over easy egg-flipper.
Why me? Well, to be honest Kristen, I am more of a moderate success story than a sob one. I actually bought "Creatively Self-Employed" back in 2009 and it motivated me through some tough times in the freelance copywriting market.
Now, I am a Content Manager at a LLC in Jax Beach, FL. So yes, I have enjoyed your writing and got a job with some of your tutelage at my back, but both our company's budget and mine do not support such a necessary expense like business cards.
I will be returning to school in the evenings chasing down my MBA and aspirations of becoming a Brand Manager at a CPG company. Thus, I will be once again be in need of a stellar CV and eye-catching calling cards.
Kindest regards and special thanks again,
Jon Hosier

Hey!!
I'd really appreciate the business cards because I'm a student who's looking for an internship and hopefully a job soon. I meet lots of people at networking events, get their business cards and tell them that I'll contact them via email/linked in but a lot of times its hard to remind them all my qualifications in an email, so I'd like my accomplishments on the back of my business card, or more like a networking card. Also for the resume, I'm pretty confident about it since I've had it looked over by almost anyone who will and try to follow any tips I get from you, I think there's always room for improvement and I'd love for it to be critiqued by you.
Thank You for your blog.
